Used oil is collected from generators via Safeway’s modern, well equipped
fleet of tank trucks. Safeway Oil pick up drivers
average over ten (10) years of experience servicing our
customers. Pump trucks are used to remove oil stored in
drums or tanks. If oil is stored in a drum, the empty
drum will remain with the customer. Upon arrival at the
Safeway Terminal the oil is thoroughly tested and
analyzed for a number of hazardous constituents,
properly certified and then unloaded into a storage
tank.
Safeway Oil Recovery
provides aboveground storage tanks for our large volume
used oil customers. These tanks are emptied on a
regularly scheduled basis.
Individuals who
change their own oil are encouraged to bring their used
oil to our facility or one of the many community
collection centers to assure that it is handled in an
environmentally safe and sound manner. A list of
community collections centers will be furnished on
request.
